Why did I (and my husband) embrace a Plant-Based Diet? We have been basically Plant-Based for over a year and a half. We started slow, and gradually leaned more and more into changing our way of eating and why we were eating what we were putting into our mouths. We are trying to live a wonderful life without a lot of chronic diseases. I’m a Catholic Christian and I believe that God will take me when he’s ready. That being said if it’s 82 and I have lived a life as free of chronic diseases as possible and have enjoyed my life, that’s a lot better of a vision than having to run to the doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies and not being able to do the things that I wish I could do. I look forward to being a wonderful Grandma sometime and my mom was a always available for my kids. She did a lot of activities and kept busy right up to the day she died. She did have some medical issues, but overall, that never stopped her.

It seems like even since we started learning about this in December of 2020, there has been a push in the food industry to start to promote more plant-based options. This documentary is the newest one out there that I have found. It covers just about everything in one place and I was glad to find it. We’re not “married” to a plant-based diet, and we do enjoy some meat every now and then and do eat out, but we understand that our bodies will recover any damage that we may have caused, by going right back to our veggies, legumes, and fruits.

Personally, I’m not eating this way just because of the animals or the environment issues. These are important, but not my focus. I’m doing this because I want to live a long healthy life as possible. In my opinion, if more and more people started thinking about taking care of their health first, the animals and environment will be taken care of automatically.
